Vintage Doors Shipping Policy
We process and ship orders Monday through Friday. In stock hardware & in stock millwork orders will ship within 1- 2 business days. All doors are made to order and are not in stock to ship within this time frame. Clients will be given estimated turn around times for handmade, custom orders.
Small Packages
Small items are shipped fully insured via FedEx Ground. These items include hardware & millwork. Shipping costs are individually figured for each order based on zip code, weight and dimensions of the final package.
Four service speeds are available for hardware or millwork orders shipping within the domestic United States: Next day, 2-Day, 3-Day, or 1-5 business days (standard).
Large Packages
Large items are shipped fully insured using common freight carrier - either FedEx or Yellow Transportation. These items include most door orders and larger millwork orders. If your order meets certain dimensional requirements, your door(s) may be eligible to ship via FedEx Ground.
Alternative Shipping Options
If your door order is shipped via freight truck, but your location is not tractor trailer friendly we can certainly arrange for alternative shipment options, including: shipping to an alternative location, shipping to a business, meeting the delivery truck, or personal pick up at the freight terminal. If it is convenient for you, we can also schedule an appointment for you to pick up your order at our manufacturing facility in NY.
Freight Policy
Unlike small package carriers like UPS or FedEx Ground, motor freight is a different experience:
A company representative will contact you prior to shipment, to schedule a convenient date for delivery. will provide you with all of the necessary delivery information to prepare you for delivery, including: full carrier information, contact numbers, tracking numbers and turn around times. It will then be your responsibility to work with the delivery center servicing your area to schedule an appointment time on the expected date of delivery.
We try very hard to make sure that you will be available for the date of delivery. With this in mind, a re delivery fee can be assessed by the terminal if you miss your appointment. If you are unable to take delivery of your products within two days after the shipment arrives to the service center, the carrier can also assess monetary charges for storage fees, which you would also be responsible for.
With motor freight and insured deliveries, clients are required to assume an active role with the delivery. The carrier is only responsible for delivering freight to the end of the truck at the end of your driveway - also known as curbside delivery. The carrier will not move the freight up the driveway or inside a home, garage or Backyard.
Optional Lift Gate Service
Upon arrival, the carrier is responsible for moving the freight to the end of the truck for drop-off. Because residences do not have docks for unloading, the freight must be moved from the bed of the truck to the ground. If the freight is light enough, or if the driver is assisted, most freight can be eased off of the truck very easily. If help is not available or if the freight is too heavy, a lift gate truck could be necessary. These trucks have a hydraulic lift that will move the freight from the bed of the truck to the ground.
Insured residential delivery is pre-paid and itemized on your order proposal at the time of order and prior to receiving shipment. The delivery charge does not include lift gate services. A lift gate delivery is an optional & additional service which varies in cost, depending on the size of your order. Upon ordering, you may request a lift gate truck. Otherwise, you have this option available to you when you contact the servicing terminal in your area to schedule delivery. The carrier must arrange for a special delivery with a lift gate.
Upon Arrival of Your Freight Shipment
We make every effort in our custom crating methods to ensure a smooth, successful delivery, but occasionally damage may occur. Immediately upon receipt of your shipment, we expect that you will inspect your order thoroughly for damage made during transit. You have the right to decline delivery of damaged goods, in which case the product will be returned to us. If the package(s) is free of any outside/ or possibly inside damages, you can sign for it "CLEAR."
